Abstract The last editorial of the year is dedicated to the "reading aloud" in the library, held 18 December 2014, entitled: "
The New Silk Road: Golden and green roads to open Acces. A read in memory of Aaron Swartz".
The event closed the annual cycle of exercise on scientific databases (PubMed game), in the library of 2014.
It is a reflection on the electronic publishing evolution in the Open Access context , and the new responsibilities of researchers that it implies.
In this case, it is not just to join a new philosophy for the dissemination and distribution of publications and data.
We are facing a broader change, which implies a different way of thinking about the work of the research and its responsibilities.
Whereas before it was enough to write a nice article and to be able to have it published by an high impact (IF) journal.
Today we need to find money to afford the Golden road, select a right journal with a high IF, but prefer ones that can ensure the right to archive "pre" and "post print", creating the conditions for Open Access. Last but not least, find an Open Access Repository in which to deposit the work.
All this to ensure: the maximization of the financing provided by the State, the highest citation level for the author and its Instritute, the future availability of the paper, its re-use by the scientific community.
